Castle Toward, Cowal Peninsular

Castle Toward had been very successfully used for outward bound and music courses since the 1970's and up until Argyll and Bute Council decided to try to sell the building and grounds with development potential. 

Armitage Associates were appointed to carry out a feasibility study to demonstrate its uniqueness and importance as an educational/outward bound venue and explore its realistic development potential with a view to informing the process of developing a new Local Plan.

The completed feasibility study outlined the limited potential for development (within historical buildings in one of Scotland's best 12 "unrecognised national treasures" in terms of designed landscapes) and established values to enable The Castle Toward Trust to progress purchase negotiations with Argyll and Bute Council.
