Wallacewell Medical Centre, Balornock, Glasgow

Project: This new build Medical Centre is large enough to accommodate the range of services being promoted by the Primary Care Division of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The design uses the entrance, reception and waiting areas to ‘break the back’ of the building, the two arms on each side which house the clinical areas and non clinical areas and gently hug the entrance to guide people in.

The strong mullions make the full height glazing less appealing to vandals whilst allowing a clear and open view from reception through the entrance and waiting area. The vaulted ceiling with open trusses, enhance the reception and waiting areas creating an open airy space.
