Main Entrance
and Concourse, Glagow Royal Infirmary
Project: The
concourse located a storey below the street and underneath the new
Maternity Unit had very little natural light. From the outset it became
apparent that here was an opportunity to use lighting creatively in
order to create a feeling of height, light and space, while enhancing
the functional aspects of the hospital entrance.
We collaborated with
Glasgow artist Nichol Wheatley to
create a bespoke mural. The idea and sole inspiration was to create ‘window
to the world outside’ which would significantly
relate to the hospital and the surrounding area.
